Business Support Officer
Business Support Officers act as professional points of contact with clients looking to start their own Business and following the initial set up their own business, dealing with any enquiries and supporting clients to sustain in self-employment through appropriately tailored advice. Clients will have received specialist training and advice from a qualified Business Advisor during their business training and launch phase, before given a warm handover to the Business Support Officer
As a Business Support Officer, you will provide regular contact and support, informing the customer of the post start up support available for clients, and ensuring all is OK with their Business. This support includes keeping in regular contact with the client over the phone, discussing on a 1:1 basis their business and needs, identifying barriers to sustained self-employment and putting in place actions to remove these. This may include referring to local support services or referring them back to a Business Advisor or Workshop for more detailed support
A key element of the role is gathering evidence of the clients’ self-employment to ensure we are able to claim the financial outcome payments. You will also identify clients who have/are at risk of not sustaining their self-employment and refer them to their Business Advisor for support
You will possess excellent interpersonal skills, be good on the telephone and have the ability to motivate clients and maintain client engagement.
The key benefits of this role include a salary of between £24,000 and £28,000 per annum, with 25 days holiday per year (plus bank holidays). Each year of service will accrue an additional day’s holiday up to a maximum of 30 days. There will be provision of a laptop and mobile phone to allow for agile mobile working. A pension scheme is also available, contributed to by Momentic.
